The Majestic Suite
Indulge with a King-sized four-poster bed with plush-top mattress and sitting area. En Suite bath includes large whirlpool tub with room for two and shower above. Second room with a Queen bed and private screened-in porch, which offers a lovely view of the 2nd Street Promenade and a shaded, cool respite after a long day on the trails.
Marvel at the original slate fireplace mantles, crystal chandeliers, brass fixtures, original woodwork and tin ceilings.
This suite is located at the top of a flight of 20 stairs.
The Paper Moon Suite
Twelve-foot high ceilings, etched glass and 600-year old Italian hardwoods will take you back to the Gilded Age. As will the crystal chandelier with matching sisters flanking either side of the painted slate fireplace mantle. The Queen-size sleigh bed and sitting area with full-size modernized bath rounds out this beautiful retreat. It’s all for you – pamper yourself!
The Vogue Suite
A four-poster Queen bed graces this private suite including sitting area and en suite bath with shower/tub combo. This most charming second-story room with 10-foot ceilings features original oak woodwork, a uniquely painted slate fireplace mantle and art-deco inspired brass chandeliers.

The Santmyer Suite
Enjoy a private suite with a King-sized bed off the second-floor breakfast room. A comfortable chaise and sitting area allow you to delight in Helen Hoover Santmyer’s best-selling novel “…and the Ladies of the Club,” which took inspiration from John Allen House and her neighbor, Eden Hall. The newly renovated ensuite features a walk-in shower and updated fixtures.

The Hospitality Suite
After a head-to-toe renovation in 2023, the Hospitality Suite is now open! The new furnishings were chosen to subtly accent the original hardwood floors and fireplace. This suite can be arranged to sleep 3 individual adults or a family.

Suite Amenities
Each suite features comfortable, new mattresses with soft, luxurious, and hypo-allergenic bedding as well as a sitting area and updated, private bath. Smart TV and Cable with a sports package, free wifi, a fan, and A/C are provided in each room. Wifi password provided at check-in.
Outdoor Amenities
There are many outdoor spaces for your enjoyment at John Allen House, including 2 porches, 1 patio area, BBQ Grill and Firepit. Draw up a chair, sit a spell – it’s okay to slow down while you’re here.
Free Parking
Parking is available along the Northeast side of the house on the paved drive. The lower lot has 4 spaces and the upper lot has three. Parking on the street is also safe.
Secure bicycle storage is available; code provided at check-in. Bicycle maintenance is available upon request.
Food & Drink Service
Filtered water is provided upon check-in. Coffee, tea, ice and snacks are available 24 hours in the Breakfast Room. Baked items and infused filtered water is available in the Guest Entry. Coffee can be delivered to your room at 7AM EST each morning upon request.
Breakfast
Continental Breakfast is available from 5 AM–Noon each day. Hot Breakfast is served in the Breakfast Room from 8 AM – 10 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Every day at John Allen, we have gluten-free, low-carb, keto, low lectin, Paleo, non-dairy, and carnivore dietary options.
Checkin & Checkout
Check-in starts at 3PM EST and Check-out is at 11 AM unless otherwise arranged.
Guest Entry can be found near the parking lot on the northeast side of the house, with entry though the side porch.
Reservations are required. For reservations more than one year in advance, please call (937)-347-3203.
Payment Policy
Balance is due at check-in (a copy of guest driver’s license will be taken at the same time). All forms of payment are accepted.
All Sales are subject to a 6.75% Ohio Sales Tax.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations require a 48-hour notice to avoid a fee. No-shows will not be charged if the room is re-booked. If the room is not re-booked, No Shows will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
House Rules
Come & go on your schedule.
Children are welcome with advance notice (Please note, we do host romantic getaways and must work around those schedules).
Pets cannot be accommodated at this time in respect of guests with allergies. A 2nd property that will be pet-friendly is in the works.
